Volleyball Women's

Divisions - Colleges & Universities

Unlike many women's college sports, NCAA Division 1 volleyball is a headcount sport. That means that only 12 players per school can be on scholarship at one time. Many of the larger volleyball programs give their women's volleyball players full scholarships, so you might have a team with 12 women receiving full athletic scholarships. At non-Division 1 schools, women's volleyball is an equivalency sport with a limit of eight full scholarships. That means that while each school can only give eight full scholarships each season, the school can decide how they are divided up. There could be eight players on full scholarship, 16 players on half scholarship or some other combination
