Soccer Men's

Divisions - Colleges & Universities

NCAA Division 1 soccer is an equivalency sport for both men and women. What that means is that there is a limit on the number of full scholarships that can be given, but partial scholarships can be given as long as the total does not exceed the full scholarship limit. For example, Division 1 men's soccer teams have an average roster size of 29 players but can only give 9.9 scholarships. That means the average player only gets about 34% of his college costs covered if the school gives the maximum amount of scholarships. Women's Division 1 soccer has a higher scholarship limit of 14, which means a team could have roster of 28 players, each with a half scholarship
